Customized Treatment Planning
Once Dr. Danzer and our team have all the details from your digital scans, we craft a plan just for you at Danzer Orthodontics. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all. You demand the best for your smile. And so do we. Dr. Danzer plots out how each tooth needs to be readjusted using the scans.
Remember, we’re not moving your teeth around at random. We have to orient them so that they line up just right. The cool part? Making Your Aligners
After you and Dr. Danzer have agreed on your personalized treatment plan, the next step is to make your clear aligners. Here’s how it works: The detailed plan you and Dr. Danzer put together gets sent to a lab. If you’re going with Invisalign, their team will make your aligners. If you choose N-Line, our Danzer Orthodontics team handles it. Either way, your aligners are crafted to fit your teeth perfectly at each stage of your treatment.
The labs use your digital scans to create a series of clear, BPA-free plastic aligners. We design our aligners to move your teeth gently, little by little. You’ll wear each set for a couple of weeks before moving on to the next one in the series. Each new aligner is slightly different. As you progress, each aligner will move your teeth closer to where you want them.
Fitting Your First Aligner
When your first set of aligners is ready, you’ll come back to one of our offices in Owensboro or Hardinsburg. Today is the day you get fitted for custom clear aligners! This is an exciting visit because you get to see the clear aligners made just for you and start your treatment. Dr. Danzer or another teammate will make sure your first aligner fits perfectly. We’ll check that it’s comfortable and not irritating you anywhere. It’s important that it feels just right, so we’ll take time to adjust anything if needed.
During this visit, you’ll also learn how to care for your aligners. You’ll get pointers on how to clean them and when and how to wear them. You should keep them on for about 22 hours a day. Remember to store them safely when eating or brushing your teeth. We will also let you know how to switch to the next aligner in your series when it’s time.
